Splunk for live data feed processing

Splunk is generally touted as being used for logfile and resource management however its features can be used for a wide range of applications. Remora utilised Splunk to monitor live and predicted electricity pricing produced by AEMO. This allowed the extension of a previous implementation of a SCADA system for an energy provider. Utilising Splunk allowed Remora to provide detailed graphing of live and predicted electricity pricing beyond what would be normally possible without complex programming.

Splunk integration has given the customer a greater control over the reporting and functionality of their custom SCADA solution. Remora's inclusion of Splunk enabled detailed realtime reporting of data that would previously had been a costly option for the client.
